Principal's Message

Welcome Woodland Elementary School Families!

It is with extreme joy to welcome you and your students to the 2024 - 2025 school year. I am Ms. Shavanda Toomer, and I am honored to serve as principal for this amazing community of learners, teachers and staff! I have over 20 years of elementary and high school experience, all gained in the Fulton County school system. I taught interrelated resources for grades K-5, served as an Instructional Support Teacher for Special Education for grades K-12, served as an elementary assistant principal for 10 years, and as a high school assistant principal for the past 5 years. I love working with children and families to access the most out of the learning process while mentoring teacher leaders to impact the outcomes for children.

I am a firm believer in the power of strong home-school-community partnerships. I believe all students are at-potential for success and strive to ensure students have the opportunities and resources to experience that success. I am an advocate for all students, a cultivator of strong relationships through effective communication, and successful teams to implement and accomplish goals for the good of all students.

As the principal of Woodland Elementary School, I look forward to our Renewed Energy for Students’ Success & Excellence in Teaching this year! I welcome your partnership, time, talent, and resources in supporting us this school year!
