Principal's Message

Marcquez Haley is a proud Georgia native, born and raised in rural Gainesville, and has spent much of
his professional life in the Metro Atlanta area. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood
Education from the University of Georgia in 2011 and began his career teaching 3rd and 4th grades.
While in the classroom, he completed his Master of Arts in Education with a concentration in
Educational Administration and Policy from the University of Georgia and obtained his Tier I Leadership
Certification from Georgia State University in 2017.

Currently, Mr. Haley is pursuing his Doctorate in Educational Leadership (Ed.D.) at Georgia State
University, with an anticipated completion date of May 2026.

After earning his leadership certification, Mr. Haley began his administrative career as an
Administrative Assistant at Centennial High School in Roswell, GA, where he supported the Math
Department and Student Support Team (SST). He also served as the PBIS Administrator and PBIS
Coach, roles that strengthened his expertise in positive behavior interventions. His experience as a
Behavior Program Specialist further expanded his ability to collaborate with stakeholders and serve the
whole child.

From 2022 to 2024, Mr. Haley served as Assistant Principal at Woodland Elementary School in Sandy
Springs, where he helped increase student achievement and led the school to earn PBIS Distinguished
Status for the 2022–2023 school year. In his most recent role as Assistant Principal at Sandy Springs Middle
School, Mr. Haley continued to make a meaningful impact on the community by fostering strong
partnerships with families, supporting academic excellence, and promoting a positive school culture. Under
his leadership, the school achieved PBIS Distinguished Status for 2023–2024. Beyond the school walls, Mr.
Haley actively engaged with the Sandy Springs community through events such as Woodland Elementary’s
Fall Festival and STEM Night, Sandy Springs Middle School’s STEM and Literacy events, various Fine Arts
and sporting events, and the community-wide STEM Showcase at North Springs High School. He also
facilitated the Rising 6th Grade Parent Night, helping families transition smoothly into middle school
and strengthening connections between schools and the broader community.

Outside of his professional role, Mr. Haley enjoys spending time with his wife, their young
daughter, and their Goldendoodle, Dice. He is an avid Atlanta sports fan and a proud supporter
of the Georgia Bulldogs. His hobbies include attending sporting events, playing the drums,
traveling with family, and participating in community service through Phi Beta Sigma
Fraternity, Inc., of which he has been a member since 2009.

Mr. Haley is excited to serve as Principal of Woodland Elementary School, continuing his
commitment to academic excellence, positive school culture, and strong community
partnerships. Go Wildcats!
