Meet the WES Assistant Principals
Mrs. Tara Uremovich
Tara Uremovich has served in Fulton County Schools for the past 6 years, serving most recently as the Curriculum Support Teacher at Woodland Elementary School. In this role she has gathered and used data to support the curriculum, instruction, and learning for all students and staff. Additional roles she has held in her career as an educator have been Instructional Coach, STEM coordinator, and teacher. She has also collaborated with Fulton County Schools to create resources aligned to Georgia’s math standards and partnered with the Georgia Department of Education to support STEM education across the state.
In 2014, she graduated with a master's degree in Urban Teacher Leadership from Georgia State University. With this degree and her experience, she developed a passion for being a life-long learner. She is a mom of two and is determined to help families and the community come together to achieve the highest levels of success.
Ms. DeShunta Adams
Ms. DeShunta Adams is a dedicated educator with 17 years of experience, including a decade in Fulton County. Originally from North Carolina, Ms. Adams is committed to fostering educational excellence and supporting students and teachers. She holds a master's degree in education, a Georgia Tier I Leadership Certification, and has completed various leadership programs, including The Governor's Office of Student Achievement Aspiring Principal Program.
Ms. Adams has served as the lead teacher for the Horizons Program at Woodward Academy and has been a School Improvement Coach, mentoring teachers and enhancing classroom effectiveness. She has also taught Kindergarten through third grade, leading PLCs and being recognized as Teacher of the Year twice.
Known for her strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills, Ms. Adams is passionate about professional growth and student achievement. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities, reading, and family time. She looks forward to contributing to the Woodland Elementary community's success.
