Azuloy Life, who joined the staff of Sandtown Middle School in 2020, was named the 2024-2025 Fulton County Schools (FCS) Teacher of the Year. “Ms. Life is completely dedicated to the students at Sandtown,” said Sandtown Principal Miranda Freeman.

All Parents, Families, and Guardians are invited to Woodland's Literacy Parent Academies.
Want to help your child become a stronger reader? Join us face to face in our Parent Resource Room to learn reading strategies from our amazing teachers that you can do at home. Sessions start at 8:30 AM and will be approximately 45 min. Please arrive by 8:20 am, so you are checked-in and ready for the session to start at 8:30 am. At the end of the session, be sure to scan the QR code to get Parent Engagement Points for your child!
We are holding two sessions:
- Literacy in Grades K, 1, and 2
- October 9, 2024, 8:30 - 9:15 am
- Location: Parent Resource Room
- Learn how to make literacy fun at home for lower elementary students
- Literacy in Grades 3, 4, and 5
- October 10, 2024, 8:30 - 9:15 am
- Location: Parent Resource Room
- Learn how to make literacy fun at home for upper elementary students

All EL parents and families are invited to join the English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) team to learn about ESOL programs and services, curriculum, and ACCESS testing.

At special meetings in October, November and December, parents and community are invited to learn about potential redistricting for areas in South Fulton and Sandy Springs.
Each time a redistricting effort is under way, the school system holds a series of meetings to gather information needed to draft a redistricting proposal that best meets the community’s needs. This allows the community to have maximum input in how the proposed attendance lines are created.
The Fulton County Board of Education will meet on Tuesday, October 8 at the FCS North Learning Center, 450 Northridge Pkwy in Sandy Springs.
